Cancellation Policy
At the Aubourn Estate, we take great pride in hosting a diverse range of seasonal events and workshops within our historic grounds. Because many of our events require significant preparation and have limited capacity, we have the following policy in place regarding the condition of sale for all ticket purchases.
Conditions of Sale
When you purchase a ticket for an event or admission, you agree to the terms and conditions set out below:
1. Ticket Purchases & Transfers
No Refunds: Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded or returned.
Can't make it? You are welcome to pass your ticket on to a friend or family member if you are unable to attend at short notice.
Flexibility & Fees: Provided you give at least 28 days' notice, tickets can be moved to an alternative date or event, subject to availability, for an administration fee of £5 per transaction. Please contact the Estate Office to arrange this: office@aubournestate.co.uk or telephone 01522 788 224.
Price Differences: In the event of a ticket alteration where the replacement ticket carries a higher cost, the ticket holder will be required to pay the price difference along with the administration fee.
Year-Round Programming: We update our events calendar throughout the year. If you are unable to find a suitable immediate alternative, your credit remains valid for 12 months from the date of the original event, allowing you ample time to rebook onto a future workshop, tour, or seasonal event.
No-Shows: Failure to attend an event without prior notification as per the timelines above will result in the forfeiture of the ticket value.
2. Entry & Admissions
Validation: Tickets can be printed or stored on your mobile device. All tickets must be produced at the admissions point. Admission without a valid ticket is not guaranteed.
Unlawful Resale: Unlawful resale or attempted resale of a ticket is grounds for seizure or cancellation without refund or compensation.
Pricing: All prices are correct at the time of publishing but are subject to change without prior notice.
3. Supervision & Safety
Children: Children aged 15 or under must be accompanied by an adult at all attractions and organised events. Adults are responsible for supervising children in their care at all times.
Groups: Teachers and group leaders are acting in loco parentis and assume full responsibility for the well-being, behaviour, and safety of their group.
Right to Search: Aubourn Estate reserves the right to search the bags of any visitor entering Aubourn Hall, the gardens, or any event space. Failure to comply may result in entry being refused.
4. Cancellations & Alterations
Operational Changes: For technical or operational reasons, some facilities may be closed or entertainment altered/cancelled at any time. Aubourn Estate reserves the right to change the programme if deemed necessary.
Weather: Events will take place regardless of weather unless conditions pose a health and safety risk. We will make every effort to reschedule events or refund tickets should we close for safety reasons.
Estate Cancellations: If we cancel or reschedule an event, you will be entitled to a refund. We will provide specific instructions on how to obtain this at the time of cancellation.
Associated Costs: In the event of cancellation, Aubourn Estate accepts no responsibility for travel, accommodation, or any other associated costs.
5. Estate Rules & Conduct
Respect & Diversity: We are an inclusive organisation. Any behaviour towards our staff or other visitors that is disrespectful or discriminatory will not be tolerated, and visitors will be asked to leave.
Right of Refusal: Aubourn Estate reserves the right, at its absolute discretion, to refuse entry or remove any visitor.
Personal Property: We accept no responsibility for any personal property brought onto the Estate.
Photography: Photography and filming are allowed for non-commercial, private use only. The use of drones is strictly prohibited anywhere on the Estate.
The Hall: To protect the historic fabric of Aubourn Hall, large bags, rucksacks, prams, or pushchairs are not permitted inside the house.
6. Media Consent
As a condition of sale, visitors consent to being photographed, filmed, or sound recorded for use on our website, social media, or promotional materials as part of the audience, or by security CCTV.
7. Access & Carers
Visitors with disabilities may bring one accompanying carer free of charge when purchasing a full-price ticket.
Supporting documentation (e.g., PIP letter, Access Pass, or Blue Badge) must be provided in person at the entrance.
Note for Workshops: While carer tickets allow access to assist the visitor, they do not include course materials or resources. Carers wishing to participate fully in a craft or workshop must purchase a full-price participant ticket.
8. Parking
Complimentary parking applies to tickets purchased online in advance and admits one vehicle per transaction.
Complimentary parking does not include coaches or minibuses unless pre-arranged with the Estate office.
